SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Running big races is something Mia Wentzy has learned that you have to experience on your own.
“I mean the energy is always so high and I’ve had many friends that have raced so I’ve been told that the adrenaline can get you going.” Wentzy says.
It can seem as tall a task as starting off a seventh grader on the varsity like Addison Scholten did three years ago.
“Mia was the best and I was really intimidated by her honestly! But we’ve grown to know each other and we’ve just become friends that way.” Scholten says.
Wentzy began her track career at Brandon Valley in the seventh grade as well and as the two began running together they began to excel.
