Bridge Food Center celebrates the opening of its new location | [Video]

The Bridge Food Center recently moved to its new expanded site on South Saginaw Street in Midland.

MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) – A grocery store that caters to low-income families celebrated its grand opening at its new location in Midland on Monday.

The Bridge Food Center recently expanded to its new site on South Saginaw Street in Midland.

The store hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony from 12 – 2 p.m.

The food center serves families that have household incomes that are too high to qualify for government food benefits but make below $72,000 a year. Bridge says that includes 28% of people in Midland County. People who live outside of Midland County are welcome.

“We moved into this building on Jan. 30,” says Bridge manager Marsha Stamas. “But today, we are just opening it up to the community to let people see that we are ready to operate.”
