Bull Shoals Lake access points are blocked due to dumping; residents frustrated [Video]

FORSYTH, Mo. (KY3) — Some residents of Bull Shoals Lake are frustrated because they can no longer drive to some of their favorite spots.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is limiting access to the lake due to excessive dumping and people using ATVs in areas that are not allowed.

“We are at the head of Bulls Shoals Lake, and public land has been shut off so that we can’t access it,” said Donetta Mitchell, who owns a tackle shop in Forsyth. There’s no reason why all of our public lands shouldn’t be open. It (the land) doesn’t belong to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.”

Mitchell says she and her customer want that public land to become more accessible again.

“It’s not fair that we can’t access the land when we aren’t the ones trashing it,” said Mitchell.
