HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – Trash pick-up problems persist in Hoover and today, the city got answers about why these issues are still happening.
City leaders from Pelham and Mountain Brook were also at the meeting said the problems started after AmWaste began a new trash pick-up schedule.
“Since March 25, there has been a lot and in fact over 2,700 reported missed pickups since that time in the city of Hoover alone,” said Hoover administrator Ken Grimes.
Grimes said in the last two weeks, that has averaged over 400 missed pickups reported each week, which they say is unacceptable. “They have been doing this long enough, for two and a half years with this authority, they should have this figured out,” said Grimes.
Grimes said they have identified the problems and will hold AmWaste accountable as they make those improvements.
