Cathy Comer has been in the catering business in Syracuse for 18 years, during which she moved to new locations several times, added sit-down lunch service as Cathy’s Corner Cafe and made other changes.

Now, Comer has made what she calls “my last move” and launched a whole new set of changes.

It begins with her first full-service bar and restaurant, which opened on Thanksgiving Day. Cathy’s Corner Cafe is now at 929 Avery Avenue, in the spot occupied for 60 years by Smorol’s Restaurant.

To start, the new Cathy’s will offer dinners on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and bar service (with a separate bar food menu) Tuesdays through Saturdays.
