CCSU student killed in Willington crash [Video]

WILLINGTON, CT (WFSB) – A Central Connecticut State University student was identified as the victim in a deadly crash that happened in Willington over the weekend.

Maria Rita Da Mata, 19, was said to have been one of four passengers a vehicle that crashed on River Road Saturday night, CCSU said.

The university announced the news to campus on Monday.

State police said they responded to the one-vehicle rollover crash at 10:12 p.m. on Saturday.

According to troopers, the driver lost control for unknown reasons.

EMS and the local fire department were on the scene.

The driver and three other passengers were transported to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries.

Da Mata. however, was pronounced dead at the scene.
