In honor of Sunshine Week, a national celebration of government transparency laws, Leadership Warren County hosted a media day for their participants.
Erie News Now Bureau Reporter, Jackie Palmer, along with Lilly Broadcasting’s Marketing Consultant Alexis Bevevino, were invited to present to the class.
They discussed the importance of community involvement and outreach in broadcasting in addition to the importance of non-partisan media.
Leadership Warren County, in partnership with the WCCBI, offers a nine-month curriculum aimed at enhancing community leadership by fostering a commitment to trusteeship.
To commemorate Sunshine Week, local media outlets were invited to discuss transparency in government and media coverage. Representatives from various outlets, including the local newspaper and Erie News Now, shared their insights.
Participants stated that it was a wonderful opportunity to meet with the media and begin theses important discussions.
