CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Ramon Iniguez served in the Army for seven years. In 2017, he went through a health challenge after receiving a diagnosis.

“I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, so I went through treatment. It lasted about two and a half years and thank goodness now I’m in remission,” Iniguez said.

Multiple Myeloma is a type of cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. Iniguez received a transplant in 2018 and is now recovering.

“It’s been a long road but you know thanks to my good friends, my family…I’ve been able to get by pretty good,”  Iniguez said.
