SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Thursday, Sioux Area Metro and city officials celebrated the recent partnership with Via and improvements happening for the public transit system.
On Jan. 1, Via took over as the new public transit provider in the city.
There have been many improvements since then, including more services, improved rider experience and growing popularity.
“We have to look at how we are providing services in a more innovated and user-friendly fashion. What I love about Via, and you’re maybe going to see this — it’s a very tech-centered platform. We are delivering transit using technology like we’ve never used before,” said Mayor Paul TenHaken.
Via officials say utilizing mini vans instead of buses all the time will save money while still providing services.
