CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Sports tourism is booming in Charleston.
“I never thought I would say the national championships for USA cycling would be in Charleston, West Virginia. Never saw that coming,” Charleston Bicycle Center owner Andrew Greene said.
USA Cycling Road Racing Championships coming to Charleston
In just 11 days, yet another sporting event is set to take over the city — the Road Racing National Championships — where multiple cycling events will showcase cyclists from all over the world competing for a spot in the Olympics this summer.
Tim Brady, president and CEO of the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the event will be a positive economic driver for the city, bringing in thousands of tourists guests.
