City of Gadsden installing flock cameras to help fight crime [Video]

GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) – Gadsden Police Officers will soon have more eyes around town to help keep you safe. The city council approved an agreement with Alabama Power to install FLOCK cameras and video cameras throughout the city.

The Gadsden Police Department signed an agreement with Alabama Power Public Safety Division for 15 Flock cameras and three video cameras. The new camera system will use the Xfinity internet service that’s required to run the cameras and transfer real-time data to the city and officers.

Tena King, Gadsden Director of City Services, says the primary goal of these cameras is to provide the police department with every tool they need to fight crime.
