AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado man is behind bars after allegedly trying to snatch a child from an elementary school during recess.
11 News sister station CBS Denver says the frightening incident happened at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora on Friday.
According to an Aurora Police Department spokesperson, the suspect walked onto school grounds while kids were at recess and went up to several children before trying to grab a little boy. The child was unharmed, and officers later found the suspect and took him into custody.
CBS Denver obtained an email to parents from the school, which stated that staff would be reviewing security protocols and procedures in the aftermath of the incident. A separate call to parents indicated that recess ended early and students were brought inside, CBS Denver said.
