BOULDER — For the second straight year, the star of Colorado’s spring game didn’t even put a uniform on.
Last year, in the sold-out event that was coach Deion Sanders’ introduction to Folsom Field, it was 99-year-old Buffaloes super fan Peggy Coppom, who kicked the honorary opening kickoff and brought 50,000 fans to their feet.
This time around, there was another moment pregame that brought Sanders to tears — only it took place in the locker room as the second-year CU coach made an announcement. Fan favorite and Littleton native Charlie Offerdahl was being given a scholarship.
