Commencement ceremonies held at local universities in Mobile [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Saturday was a special day for some students at several local universities as commencement ceremonies took place.

More than 2,000 University of South Alabama graduates received their degrees. President Jo Bonner recognized the students’ accomplishments as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

Students from USA’s College of Engineering, School of Computing, College of Nursing, College of Medicine, College of Allied Health Professions, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and Professional Studies, and the Mitchell College of Business participated in the ceremonies.

At the University of Mobile, more than 300 graduates participated in graduation ceremonies. Dr. Lonnie Burnett delivered the commencement address before his retirement as president.

The 2024 class also included the first 12 graduates of the university’s new Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program.

The graduates also received a surprise present of a picture frame that says University of Mobile.
