Community members gather in Tupelo to show united stance against hate crimes | News [Video]

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Hate crime is a serious issue regardless of whether it is over religion or race, and people came together in Tupelo to target that crime.

Wednesday at the Tupelo Police Department, teachers, members of law enforcement, and others met to learn how to fight hate crimes.

The US Attorney’s Office for northern Mississippi teamed up with Tupelo police to share how people can identify, report, and prevent those crimes.

They also discussed building trust between law enforcement and their communities as well as how to deal with discrimination.
