Connecticut highway sign updated to show UConns latest championship [Video]

TOLLAND, CT (WFSB) – Anyone heading up to the University of Connecticut Storrs campus may notice an updated sign.

The highway sign just before exit 68 on Interstate 84 in Tolland now reflects the new number championships the UConn men’s basketball team has won.

The State of Connecticut updated the I-84 sign just before exit 68 to reflect the UConn men’s basketball team’s 6th NCAA national championship.(WFSB)

The Huskies earned their 6th NCAA Tournament championship on Monday night when they defeated Purdue in Phoenix.

It was was also the team’s second in a row.

The sign also included the 11-time NCAA national champion women’s basketball teams, the 5-time NCAA national champion field hockey teams, and the 3-time national champion men’s soccer teams.
