Diazs RBI Gives Alabama A&M Walk-Off Victory over Alabama State | News [Video]

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alex Diaz’s single to right in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Chevalier Dorris as the Alabama A&M University baseball team defeated Alabama State, 12-11, in a walk-off victory in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series opener on Saturday at the Bulldog Baseball Field.

Alabama A&M (12-32 overall, 8-14 SWAC) led 11-1 entering the sixth inning and slowly watched Alabama State battle back, tying the game at 11 going into the ninth.

With one out in the ninth, Dorris singled through the right side and stole second. Diaz followed with a single to right and Dorris raced home, sliding head first for the walk-off win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Alabama State (22-22, 13-9) got a solo homer by Cristian Lopez in the top of the third, but the Bulldogs answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to grab a 4-1 lead.
