Donald Trump tried to once again deploy his “Delay Delay Delay” tactics for his porn star hush money trial, but he lost in his attempt. The trial will still happen next week, on April 15, as a New York Court of Appeals judge threw out the former president’s bid to delay the trial again.
Justice Lizbeth González of the state’s Court of Appeals oversaw the emergency hearing in which Trump’s lawyers asked to postpone the trial indefinitely because they are trying to move it out of Manhattan. The emergency stay would have prevented the trial from starting on time and furthered Trump’s strategy to delay all trials until after the election. Should Trump win, he could have his Justice Department throw out the federal cases against him.
