Former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a private meeting in Miami on Sunday, with DeSantis pledging to assist Trump in his fundraising efforts for the 2024 presidential election, according to a Republican source familiar with the meeting.
DeSantis, who was re-elected in 2022 and later withdrew from the 2024 Republican presidential primary, boasts a robust network of wealthy donors that could prove beneficial to Trump as the election approaches, Fox News reports.
The relationship between Trump and DeSantis has been tumultuous, particularly during the 2024 Republican primary.
Despite their previous clashes, including DeSantis criticizing Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the governor has since endorsed Trump’s candidacy and signaled his intention to support the former president’s fundraising endeavors.
