Dunlap High School Senior dies in late night crash [Video]

PEORIA (25News Now) – A head-on crash near the Louisville Slugger Complex late Saturday night has left a Dunlap High School Senior dead.

The Peoria County Coroner says the crash happened just before 11:45 PM Saturday night on North Orange Prairie Road, near the Louisville Slugger Complex.

Coroner Jamie Harwood says 18-year-old Nevaeh Mitchell of Princeville was reportedly heading northbound on Orange Prairie Road when her vehicle was hit head-on by a southbound vehicle in the northbound lanes.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

The Peoria Police Department is investigating the crash.
