Erie Couple Shows Support for Fallen Marine – Erie News Now [Video]

Andrew W. Nowacki, known as “Ace”, was killed by a roadside bomb on February 26th, 2005.

The former Marine was protecting a convoy during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Nowacki was 24 years old.

Serving the community was important to Andy, a former Police Officer in Grand River, Ohio.

And over the weekend, the Andy Nowacki Foundation held its 18th annual, “Heroes for Andy” event.

Erie was well represented at the event.

Richard Michali and his wife Tammi attended for the 18th time. 

Their son Adam was driving the Hummer on the day Andy Nowacki was killed.

Adam is current a member of the Erie Police Department. 

The Mission of the Foundation is to provide scholarships for future Firefighters, EMT’s and Nurses.
