TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – As businesses return to the Sunshine Mile on Broadway, the Rio Nuevo Board of Directors continues to look for ways to support the effort.
Zemam’s Ethiopian Restaurant spent years dealing with a variety of challenges but now it’s back with some very needed parking that it is leasing from Rio Nuevo.
“This was all, the only original restaurant,” said Zemam’s owner Amanuel Gebremariam as he showed where the restaurant started in what is now a front room.
Zemam’s started with four tables more than 30 years ago. Now it has more than 20 tables after weathering a pandemic and Broadway Boulevard construction.
