Fatal Fayetteville Walmart shooting | Suspect photo [Video]

Police are searching for the suspect, 19-year-old Adrian Jelks.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — A Walmart employee is wanted in connection to a deadly double shooting that killed a teenager and injured a 9-year-old girl, according to the Fayetteville Police Department on Saturday.

Police are searching for the suspect, 19-year-old Adrian Jelks, after a shooting at the Walmart in the Fayette Pavilion shopping center on Friday night around 10 p.m. He’s wanted for murder and aggravated assault. 

When officers arrived at the store on Friday, 19-year-old Antavius Holton was found shot, and a 9-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet and rushed to the hospital, police said. An update on Saturday stated Holton had died, but the child is expected to be OK. 

Police said they are actively working leads and have a 19-year-old woman in custody being “transported to the Fayette County Jail, pending warrants for party to a crime for the offenses of murder and aggravated assault.”
