FFA convention comes to Columbia | News [Video]

COLUMBIA – The Missouri Chapter of FFA is currently holding its 96th annual state convention at the Hearnes Center. The event, which began on Wednesday and ends on Friday, is the largest career and technical student organization gathering in the state. Over 8,000 students and teachers from 362 local FFA chapters have flocked to Columbia for the festivities. 

Participants can attend workshops, partake in competitions and promote the importance of agriculture in Missouri. Agriculture is one of the state’s largest occupations, and conferences like this give students a look at a crucial economic facet. 

“The purpose of events like these is to recognize our students for the activities that they have completed throughout the year,” said Teresa Briscoe, Missouri FFA Executive Secretary.
