FIRST ALERT: Flooding & Severe Storms are possible Wednesday [Video]

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) –

A potent storm system is gradually making its way towards our area. Ahead of this system, we’ll have to dodge on & off showers and storms on Tuesday (with periodic downpours), but we’ll have many dry moments as well. There’s a slim chance for a strong to severe storm Tuesday afternoon / evening, but damaging wind will be the main threat should that happen.

The better environment for severe storms, locally, will be on Wednesday. First, this system will have a lot of wind energy. So, wind gusts over 30mph are possible… even away from any storms. When storms are added to the mix, gusts around 70mph (or stronger) will be possible… which could bring tornado-like damage.
