BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Scattered strong storms possible Today: We begin our Tuesday morning with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. With daytime heating and plenty of humidity in place, we could see scattered storms develop this afternoon and continue into the evening hours. The leftover energy from the storms in the Plains yesterday is expected to make its way into the Southeast today. We are holding on to a 40% chance for scattered storms mainly between noon and 8 p.m. The Storm Prediction Center is highlighting a marginal risk – threat level one out of five – for most of central Alabama today. The main threats will be strong winds up to 40 to 60 mph, large hail up to quarters, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall.
