TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) – Florida will have one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country Wednesday. That’s when the state’s 6-week abortion ban takes effect after a Florida Supreme Court ruling April 1.
People across Florida were protesting the new law Tuesday outside the Federal Courthouse in Tallahassee. The ban means women like Danielle Tallafuss won’t be able to end a pregnancy if there are complications.
“The suffering and the pain that Nathaniel would’ve had to go through with the treatment options that were being presented to us, termination was the best decision for our family,” Tallafuss said.
Tallafuss is now worried about what will happen to the women and children who find themselves in a similar situation.
“Women are going to forced to bring those babies to term and then watch them suffer and ultimately pass away,” Tallafuss.
