Florists prepare for Valentines Day rush [Video]

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Nearly one in four people purchased flowers for the holiday in 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,

From planning delivery routes to creating arrangements, Obermeyer’s florist is seeing an influx of customers coming in to buy flowers for their special someone.

Florist design manager Tina Perkins says this time of year is special to be a part of.

“It is great to see people smile especially when they are not expecting to see someone knocking at their door and they have a bouquet of flowers, and someone is thinking of them. Valentine’s Fay is just a great time of year to share love and kindness.”

The florist places Valentine’s Day arrangements in refrigerated rooms in the order in which they will be delivered.
