CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A former Perry High School assistant football coach has been indicted for sexual assault involving a teen, according to new court documents obtained by Arizona’s Family.
Nathan David Lauritzen, 45, is now facing a felony count of sex assault after allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old girl on New Year’s Day in a spare bedroom at his home in Chandler. According to court paperwork, the teen went to a different bedroom after the assault and told her friends what happened.
Chandler police responded to the home, and the girl was taken to the Chandler Family Advocacy Center for a forensic examination. Documents say that DNA test results came back in March, linking Lauritzen to the assault.
Lauritzen was arrested on Mar. 22 after self-surrendering by his attorney’s side. He was booked into the Maricopa County jail on a $40,000 bond. He later pleaded not guilty during a court appearance on Thursday.
