Frozen Four: DU Pioneers advance to NCAA championship game | Sports Coverage [Video]

The race to 10 continues into the national championship game. 

Playing in the biggest game of his life and in his hometown, Tristan Broz once again played the role of the hero for Denver as his overtime goal gave the Pioneers a 2-1 win over Boston University at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. — an arena that Broz grew up just a short drive away from in the Twin Cities suburbs.

“I think that’s what every kid dreams of, to do something like that for your team,” Broz said.

Broz, who has been asked to step up into the top line center role in Massimo Rizzo’s absence the last two months, also scored the game-winning goal in double overtime in DU’s win over UMass in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
