One of West Virginia’s top commits in the 2023 recruiting class could be the Mountaineers’ next two-way player

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two-way players have become a rarity in college football. Colorado’s Travis Hunter gained national attention last year for his capabilities and snap counts on offense and defense.

There is a dual-threat experiment in the works this spring, across the country in Morgantown. At the center of it, is one of West Virginia’s most highly anticipated offensive recruits in recent history.

“We’ve been messing around, playing Rodney [Gallagher III] a little bit as a nickel on defense,” WVU head coach Neal Brown said Wednesday.
