TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Emotional testimony came from the wife of Santa Cruz County rancher George Alan Kelly as she took the stand in his murder trial on Wednesday, April 3.
He is charged in the shooting death of Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea in January 2023.
Prosecutors have focused on Wanda Kelly’s inconsistent answers, while the defense reminded the jury she was under stress the day her husband would find Buitimea’s body on their ranch.
Wanda has been married to George, who goes by Alan, not George, for almost 54 years.
She testified that on Jan. 30th, 2023, her husband was standing in the kitchen at the bar eating a sandwich while she was standing in the living room petting her cat. He asked her to be quiet and said he had heard a shot.
