Georgetown Co. to hold needs assessment on public safety, economic development [Video]

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – If you live in Georgetown County, you are invited to share your concerns at an upcoming public needs assessment hearing.

The county and the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments will hold a meeting on Thursday to hear and discuss reports for public safety concerns and economic development in the area. The issues from this meeting will be placed into a needs assessment file to fuel any future improvement projects or grant applications.

“These needs are for us to note and indicate so later down the line if the locality wants to do a project, they can look back and say, ‘oh yeah, someone did mention this is a need,’” Grant Administrator Imani Jones says.
