Glendale man accused of sexual exploitation of Yuma teen [Video]

YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — The Yuma Police Department worked with Phoenix detectives to arrest 31-year-old Samuel Macias from Glendale.

YPD said Macias is suspected of blackmailing and intimidating a teen from Yuma through a video call app.

“These suspects are prying on the young kids, who really don’t understand what’s going on, and when it does hit them that this is wrong, it’s really too late,” said Lori Franklin, the Yuma Police Department’s public information officer.

“Our detectives actually located the suspect that lived in Glendale, Arizona. They contacted the Phoenix detectives, got them on board and served a warrant at the residence,” added Franklin.

Macias is facing multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of dangerous drugs.

“We kind of got lucky because this person was actually here within the state. Sometimes, if it happens with a person overseas, it’s really hard to figure out who they are,” Franklin …
