AUSTIN, Minn. – The Hormel Institute is aiming to be the biomedical hub of the Midwest by requesting $20 million in a bonding bill to expand services.
The research center wants to collaborate with more scientists across Minnesota and the Midwest. The Hormel Institute has its eyes set on offering its technology virtually to researchers unable to travel to Austin. Additionally, the institute is wanting to accept more research samples from other facilities who do not have the same quality technology as the Hormel Institute.
Governor Walz says in order for this expansion to happen, both sides of the isle in the Minnesota legislature need to come together on this bonding bill.
