GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) – Two Gulf Shores Police officers are heading to Washington, DC on a mission of hope. They’ll be riding their bicycles 250 miles from Chesapeake, VA to the Law Enforcement Memorial in DC as part of the Law Enforcement United (LEU) Road to Hope campaign.

Patrol Officer Brandon Shelton and Sergeant Landon Coker along with four officers from Dothan PD will represent Alabama in this year’s Road to Hope ride. Shelton will be riding for the second time while Coker will participate for the first time. Law Enforcement United, who puts on the ride is a non-profit organization with a mission of honoring the service and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers who’ve died in the line of duty.
