Hammond apartment complex shooting suspect identified [Video]

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder that happened Tuesday morning before noon in a Hammond apartment complex. Investigators say they received a call to the Tangi Village apartment complex on the West Side of the University Exit near Hammond and Quick Boulevard.TPSO says one man was killed and another man is in the hospital after being hit with a pistol. On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office released new information stating that they are searching for the suspect, identified as Tyrell Brister.Brister, 22, is accused of pistol whipping a victim before shooting and killing the other victim. The victim shot and killed was identified by the sheriff’s office as Malcom Toney, 22. Deputies say the victim pistol whipped by Brister was Toney’s brother.
