On Saturday, city officials reopened the Hampton Carousel after months of repairs. Many people stopped by for a ride.

The weather system is something Dominion Energy leaders have been watching.

“We’re watching the rain system move out and the cold front move in,” said Tim Eberly, a spokesperson with the company.

He said they’re not expecting many issues. Normal staffing is in place but more crews could get called in if necessary. Eberly said crews saw one notable weather outage overnight.

“That was around 11 p.m. last night in Williamsburg and it was from a tree limb falling on a power line,” he said. “It affected around 2,800 customers.”

Eberly said crews restored power there within two hours. He said although they don’t expect many outages, they are keeping an eye out for strong winds knocking down any fallen trees or branches.
