SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) – A Saginaw area doctor who is accused of threatening to put on a bomb belt and blow up a hospital was in court for a preliminary examination on Friday.
Dr. Omar Marar is charged with one count of false report or threat of terrorism.
Friday’s preliminary examination was adjourned, as Marar’s attorney says he is waiting on additional information related to the case.
Marar was accused of making threatening statements inside an Ascension St. Mary’s hospital room on Jan. 8, including the comment about putting on a bomb belt and killing everyone.
Marar also faces a civil lawsuit from a hospital employee who says she felt threatened by the doctor in a previous incident.
