AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI/Gray News) – An 18-year-old without arms or legs is getting a personalized truck.
Anders Lovstuen is about to graduate high school and head to college. He also wants to get his driver’s license along with hitting the road in his first car.
WABI reports that Lovstuen is getting assistance when it comes to his ride from Electronic Mobility Controls and Driving Ambition.
Michael Courtney, a driver evaluator for Driving Ambition, said he first met Lovstuen when he was 15 years old.
“He’s definitely a very unique case, he has no lower limbs as well as very minor appendages up on his upper body,” Courtney said. “So, being able to find a spot where we could place the equipment for him to use it and keep control of the vehicle was very important.”
