It’s getting harder to get supply of certain insulin products at some Arkansas pharmacies, leading pharmacists to find other options.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Dozens of reports show how shortages of drugs in the U.S. have risen to an all-time high.
At Kavanaugh Pharmacy in Little Rock they’ve also felt what many others have been experiencing too— the struggle to find and supply insulin to customers.
Pharmacists must figure out ways to help Arkansans who need it desperately.
“We’ve had lots of drug shortages over the last six, eight months, but insulin is a concerning one because it is a lifesaving medication for people,” said Anne Pace, Owner and Pharmacist at Kavanaugh Pharmacy. “We’re seeing most of the issues with the intermediate to short-acting products.”
