A WALMART employee has lifted the lid on a little-known trick which could save shoppers hundreds of dollars.

The nine-year veteran staffer revealed that the tip can be a “secret weapon” and that it “just takes asking”.

Shoppers at the retail giant often tear their hair out after discovering local offers on items they’ve already purchased.

For frustrated consumers, Walmart’s price match policy is a godsend for Americans who want to avoid the squeeze.

“Walmart’s price matching can be a secret weapon,” they said.

“Just show proof of the same in-stock product priced lower at a local brick-and-mortar competitor and they’ll adjust your previous charge.”

“It’s easy savings — just takes asking.”
