CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed President Joe Biden’s campaign co-chair about abortion — an issue on which, according to Tapper, Biden has been “all over the map.”
In an interview of State of the Union Sunday, the CNN anchor confronted former Gov. Mitch Landrieu — who is the co-chair of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign — about the president’s past rhetoric on abortion.
Here’s how Tapper summed up Biden’s history on the subject.
“I know that the Biden campaign, the Biden-Harris campaign, sees support for abortion rights as a real asset for November. I have to note that in his 50 years in politics — and I’ve been covering him for, I don’t know, 25 of them — Joe Biden has been all over the map on abortion. In ’74, he said Roe v. Wade ‘went too far’ and that ‘a woman should not have the sole right to say what should happen to her body.’ …
