Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) accused Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of “pouring gasoline” on the anti-Semitism rearing its head at anti-Israel protests on campuses around the country during an appearance on MSNBC.
Moskowitz and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) joined Morning Joe on Tuesday to promote their bill to incorporate the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism into the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and that’s where Moskowitz was asked how doing so might “change the game as to what’s happening on college campuses.”
“It’s going to give obviously more teeth to the federal government to enforce their rules and regulations,” began Moskowitz. “This is not complicated, right? What we’re seeing is we’re seeing universities complicate it by failing to lead and protect their students, failing to enforce their code of conduct, taking options off the table, giving all the power to the protesters.”
