Johns Chapel AME Church to host free health screening [Video]

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – Johns Chapel AME Church in Enterprise is putting access to health screenings at the forefront.

The fellowship is hosting a free screening event for anyone who may not have the transportation or funds to regularly check their well-being.

”You may have a blockage and not realize it,” Yevette Williams, a member of the church, said.

Everything was fine for Williams until about two weeks ago when she had a health scare.

“When I went to my cardiologists, they just always check your heart. Well, he checked my carotid artery and I had to go in and take a test because I had a burden in my right carotid artery, thinking I had a blockage which was not the case,” Williams explained.

In the beginning, Williams didn’t prioritize her health screenings.

”I would say ‘I don’t need to go to the doctor, there is nothing wrong with me.’ You never know,” Williams said.
