KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Municipal Court will be closed on Monday and KCMO.gov remains unavailable after the city’s computer system was reportedly compromised over the weekend.
Although it is unclear exactly when the outage occurred, IAFF Local 42 President Dan Heizman sent an email to Kansas City Fire Department staff on Saturday, notifying them of the incident. His email stated that “The City’s computer system was compromised,” and he expected KCFD’s staffing technology and “other IT systems” to be impacted.
KCMO.gov, Kansas City’s official website, has remained unavailable throughout the weekend, giving users an error message reading “This site can’t be reached.”
On Sunday, the Kansas City Municipal Court sent a notice that it would be closed on Monday, May 6 as a direct result of the outage.
