Kevin McCarthy Praises ‘Very Serious’ Marjorie Taylor Greene [Video]

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy praised Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as a “very serious legislator” — despite all the noise she’s making about ousting McCarthy’s successor, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Appearing on Fox News’ One Nation with Brian Kilmeade Saturday night, the former speaker leaned hard into the idea that because Greene did not make her motion to vacate the speaker privileged — which would have forced an immediate vote — she showed she’s actually interested in hammering out a compromise, rather than making a power play.

“What she’s doing is much different than what [Rep.] Matt Gaetz(R-FL) is doing,” McCarthy said. “She didn’t make it privileged, so it’s not up for a vote. And the one thing I’ve always found about Marjorie is she’s a very serious legislator that deals with policy. And the best way to deal with anyone like that is sit down and talk to them.
