Kim Godwin Leaves ABC News After Three Years [Video]

Kim Godwin has left her role as president at ABC News. 

Godwin was the first Black woman to run the broadcast network news operation. According to reports, the Disney unit became concerned about the way she was managing the shows such as, “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight.” 

In a memo to her staffers on Sunday, Godwin said that she had planned “to retire from broadcast journalism.” Godwin came under fire for her restructuring ABC News and Disney’s ABC Stations, that had her answering to her Debra O’Connell. 

O’Connell is set to oversee the company for the time being. Disney has not used issued a statement on the sudden exit of Kim Godwin.
