Kona Ice Pikes Peak brings tropical shaved ice to Colorado Springs [Video]

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Kona Ice Pikes Peak is a fun-filled mobile truck that brings the refreshing taste of tropical shaved ice to you. In addition to raising funds for local schools and nonprofit organizations, Kona Ice also knows how to throw a great party!

FOX21’s Loving Living Local crew had a taste of paradise thanks to Kona Ice Pikes Peak and their KEV (Kona Entertainment Vehicles), bringing a refreshing tropical vibe to Southern Colorado this summer.

“We saw a Kona Ice truck in 2012 in Ohio and pursued the opportunity, moving to Colorado Springs specifically to open Kona Ice,” Ray Mowry said.

Ray explained that working with schools is a big part of their business model. “We work with over 100 schools on special events, Field Days, athletic events, etc., and always donate a portion of sales back to the school.”
