KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Those in need of some last-minute solar eclipse glasses may be in luck at some retailers around the Kansas City Metro.

The American Astronomical Society and Solar Eclipse Across America have approved the following retailers:

  • Amazon
  • Target
  • Hy-Vee
  • Walmart
  • Warby Parker
  • Cracker Barrel
  • Lowes
  • Meijer
  • Menards
  • Staples
  • Kroger
  • 7-Eleven
  • Local Library

While these large retailers have been approved by astronomy experts, they said as long as the glasses were manufactured by one of the following, they are safe to use:

  • American Paper Optics – EclipseGlasses.com – Eclipser
  • Flip’n Shades
  • Halo Eclipse Spectacles
  • Celestial Optics
  • Grafix Plastics
  • DayStar Filters
  • American PaperWear
  • Seymor Solar
  • Rainbow Symphony – Eclipse Shades
  • Thousand Oaks Optical

The AAS has also urged those who plan to view the eclipse to choose the safest glasses with the following tips:
